The mission of the Urban League of Lexington-Fayette County is to assist African Americans and disadvantaged citizens in the achievement of social and economic equality.

 

OUR MOVEMENT

Established in 1910, The Urban League is the nation's oldest and largest community based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League spearheads the non-partisan efforts of its more than 100 affiliates.

Annual Empowerment Banquet

This year the Urban League will present its inaugural DIVERSITY AWARDS. Embracing diversity means understanding, respecting, and valuing people's differences, visible or invisible, including but not limited to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, and age. Nomination forms will be available May 1 - June 30, 2012. Join us Monday, October 15th at 6:30PM for an evening that celebrates what makes us all unique and empowers the community.
